Help offered

We can support you through the hard times and help to put a smile back on your face! Living with sight and hearing loss can be hard and as a result, you might feel anxious or low. Our wellbeing and emotional support service can help you through particularly difficult times.

Our wellbeing and emotional support service includes:

Dedicated call handlers who are available Monday to Thursday between 9am and 5pm and Fridays between 9am and 4pm
Six-week intensive care packages
Virtual support groups
Peer one-to-one support, to share your experiences with others
Wellbeing communications
Christmas and birthday wishes
Regular interactions with those who are waiting to access our befriending service

You can speak to trained staff and volunteers who are non-judgemental and experienced in active listening, call handling, communication support, safeguarding, signposting, suicide and mental health issues.

Six week emotional support service

Our six week support service gives you the chance to talk through feelings, thoughts and emotions, rather than a general chat. It is not a counselling service but offers you the space, safety and warmth to talk openly and honestly with our trained advisors.

We understand that everyone’s situation is different, and everyone is facing different challenges. We will work with you through a six-week program which aims to help you to make sense of your feelings. This might be the start of a longer journey for you, or it might be a continuation of one you have already started.

At the end of the six week program, we will agree a personalised ongoing plan to make sure that you are fully supported in the future.

The service is open to anyone who is affected by dual sensory loss and their support networks.
