The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) is the independent voice for housing and the home of professional standards. Our goal is simple – to provide housing professionals with the advice, support and knowledge they need to be brilliant. CIH is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation. This means that the money we make is put back into the organisation and funds the activities we carry out to support the housing sector. We have a diverse and growing membership of more than 22,000 people who work in both the public and private sectors, in 20 countries on five continents across the world.

In Northern Ireland, we work to shape housing and community agendas to support more than 500 members across Northern Ireland. We do this in three ways:

Learn with us - we exist to create extraordinary people through learning, we are the experts when it comes to your professional development. We deliver industry leading accredited qualifications at all levels and across a wide range of subject areas. We have a range of tools and career guidance to help you every step of the way. Every year thousands of housing professionals learn with us.

Improve with us - we put housing policy into highly effective practice. We have a range of tools which help you improve your skills and knowledge - from workshops and free policy papers to consultancy and training - we know what great housing professionals look like and importantly we know how to make you a great housing professional.

Influence with us - we aim to shape the housing agenda and create a better future for residents. We work closely with the whole sector. We base our work on good analysis and provide sensible solutions. We provide a solutions-focused critique of government whilst maintaining an on-going dialogue with senior policy makers - a key balance to strike if we're to maintain our position as key influencers.
