Linking Generations Northern Ireland

The Digital Age Project have created a free IT toolkit available to download from www.digital-age.org.uk to assist individuals, organisations and community groups to support all ages to get online in the digital age....

The Digital Age Project is an initiative that focuses on the promotion of digital inclusion, particularly with older people in sheltered accommodation.

By getting older people online, the project hopes to open up a new world of information, whilst enabling communication, access to services and keeping in touch with others.

Participants who have taken part in the project so far have highlighted the benefits of being able to keep in touch with family and friends through email and Skype, shop for the best deals online and pursue hobbies and interests.

This IT toolkit, created by the project, is designed to be used to assist older people and anyone looking to learn more about getting online but also to support those who have digital skills to use them to support learning for others.

It is available to access online and download for free at www.digital-age.org.uk

To access learner cards go to ‘I want to improve my Digital Literacy’ and to support a learner go to ‘I want to support someone with their Digital Literacy’.

The project is supported by the Big Lottery Fund and delivered by a partnership comprising LGNI (Linking Generations Northern Ireland – part of the Beth Johnson Foundation) as lead partner with Ignite IT, Zenith IT Solutions, Learning & Work Institute, NIFHA (NI Federation of Housing Associations) and in partnership with Go ON NI.
