The Institute of Fundraising Northern Ireland is inviting expressions of interest to receive free consultancy time to help them audit, review and plan for fundraising code compliance.

Funded by the Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland 5 days consultancy is available to work with two medium to large charities to help them understand the requirements for Fundraising Code compliance and put them in a strong and leading position with regards to self-regulation of fundraising activity.

Organisations based in Northern Ireland interested in this work should express an interest by email to [email protected] by midnight 30 September 2017.

Speaking about the project, Chairperson of IOF NI, Neil Irwin said "This is a great opportunity for two charities to get support in an area important to maintain trust and confidence in fundraising and regulation. The idea if for two organisations to come forward to work with IOF NI to better understand the requirements of the fundraising code and get support to achieve compliance."

"With the announcement from NICVA that the Fundraising Regulator should extend to Northern Ireland this is an important initiative to help the whole sector understand the resources and requirements needed to meet a new regulation regime."

The programme aims to work sympathetically with organisations to promote key principles and behaviours and develop practice in line with policy in areas such as cash handling, direct marketing, trusts, events, working with volunteers, raffles/lotteries etc.

IOF Northern Ireland will soon be launching a helpline and email enquiry service to help the sector with Fundraising Code compliance and has announced a 'roadshow' of workshops to promote awareness of the fundraising code. They will also be adapting the IOF Trustees Guide to a Northern Ireland audience.

In the meantime if you have any queries please contact [email protected]
