Do you know it is possible to help yourself prevent heart disease, diabetes, cancers and many other modern illnesses?  There is now an increasing amount of research and countless testimonials which tell us that by eating a whole food, plant based diet, as part of an overall healthy lifestyle, it is possible to prevent and reverse many of today's illnesses. 

The work of researchers and doctors such as Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Professor T Colin Campbell, Dr. Michael Greger, John McDougall and John Robbins demonstrates that a diet based on whole plant foods such as grains, legumes, pulses, fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts and seaweeds can significantly increase your ability to stay healthy and free from many of the modern illnesses which affect millions of people throughout the world.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

"Plant Based Living" is a new non for profit organisation founded by Lorraine Hanna and John McKeever.  For the past two years we have been giving plant based cookery demonstrations and talks to secondary level students throughout N Ireland.  Now we are keen to bring this vital information and training into the wider community.

We are offering a limited number of free training sessions for local community groups and charities.  These sessions can be

a) cookery demostrations - kitchen facilities including one cooker are required. Particpants watch as healthy plant based recipes are prepared and can sample the wonderful results.

b) individual cookery worshops or a series of classes -  kitchen facilities with a number of cookers are required.  In these longer workshop or series of classes participants get more hands on and  prepare healthy, nutritious recipes for themselves.  They will also get the opportunity to visit local shops and supermarkets to source the ingredients needed for the recipes they will prepare.  We will also explain in detail how all the recommended nutritional requirements can be obtained from plant sources.

c) talks on the amazing benefits of plant based nutrition, inlcuding the modern research being carried out into its benefits, where to find the necessary ingredients for healthy plant based recipes, how to prepare them and references for further study by participants.

We are always happy to talk to individual groups to see how we can adapt our programmes to suit them.
