Shaping Social Housing-Involving Communities event-Early bird discount

The Department for Social Development "A Tenant Participation Strategy for NI 2015-2020"is out for consulation. Housing Rights Service and Supporting Communities NI have come together to offer a one day conference on 5 March to look at this issue.

DSD'S strategy explores how social landlords and tenants can work together to improve services. In addition it considers what further initiatives could be introduced to expand the rights of tenants through tenant empowerment.

At this one day conferenceat the Skainos Centre Belfast, delegates will hear from a host of expert speakers. These include speakers from Scotland who successfully involved communities, with their Social Housing Charter. It will also include the launch of research carried out by Dr Jenny Muir of Queen’s University Belfast, and commissioned by Housing Rights Service, which looks at how to include everyone, particularly ‘hard to reach’ or ‘easy to ignore’ groups, in the development of housing policy.
