To mark the launch of the Cinemagic Heritage Scheme, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Cinemagic invite you to a FREE screening of the Irish classic “War of the Buttons”. Following an introduction featuring storytelling, song and art with Randall Stephen Hall, join Cinemagic as “War of the Buttons” transports you back to 1960’s Ireland in this hilarious tale of the war “to the death” between the youngsters of two rural villages!

No stones in slingshots. No skirmishes too late in the day. They’re rules of war for the youngsters of neighbouring Irish villages. The battle lines have been drawn, but the war must be over by dinnertime!

The Cinemagic Heritage Scheme will run from September 2014 to June 2015, engaging students from a number of post-primary schools with the stories and oral histories of the older generations through workshops, film screenings and the production of short documentaries. Follow Cinemagic on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with this exciting and innovative project!
