PT Communications Officer

The postholder will be responsible for the delivery and coordination of Victim Support NI’s internal and external communication activities.

Essential criteria:

  •  “A” level standard with minimum 2 years experience of working in a Communications function
  • OR
  • A Minimum of 5 years experience in a Communications function

     

  • A demonstrable knowledge of a range of communications activities – media, websites, publications, marketing, social media, PR, etc.

  • Proven work-based experience of writing factual media articles

  • Experience of building successful relationships with editors and journalists

  • Proven ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing with a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain sound working relationships with staff at all levels of the business

  • IT literate with a sound understanding of social media and competent with all Microsoft office packages

 

Desirable criteria:

  •  Degree or equivalent in media relations, PR or marketing
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system

  • Experience of campaigning to influence societal change

     

    Additional requirements:

  • The post holder will be required to undertake travel across Northern Ireland and must be able to demonstrate the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the post
