Oaktree Enterprises is a newly developed initiative which combines three existing L'Arche Projects and involves people who have a learning disability and people who are homeless, working together to learn, grow, cook and create art.
The first project, Root Soup, is a catering social enterprise which is managed by L’Arche in partnership with Oaklee Homes Inverary House, Green Buds invites participants to the L’Arche allotment where they participate in growing & horticultural training and ‘In Other Words’ develops craft and creative skills. The tailored work placements provided by each project aim to enable people to become more involved in their communities and develop skills for future employment and more independent living.
The Project Worker will be responsible for working closely with and supporting Oaktree Trainees, for assisting to developing all three projects as well as supporting the connection between the three projects under the Oaktree name. The staff member will provide support to participants within the sessions and will support delivery of the sessions in various locations. The staff member will be responsible for day to day admin for Oaktree which will include reporting, monitoring and funding tasks.
The main job purpose is to add value to Oaktree Enterprises by delivering “hands on” support to clients with varying needs, assisting to engage them in a programme of training and supporting other project staff to deliver training. Enhances the social enterprises by helping to coordinate and prepare for weekly activities. Maintains the systems necessary to ensure smooth delivery of services.
Working hours will be divided between project work and admin work and office based hours will be allocated to the post holder.
