Title: Nursery Assistant

Reporting to: Manager

Employer: Zion’s Den Childcare Centre

Job purpose: to work as part of a team and ensure that the daily needs of all children are catered for.

 Your Main Responsibilities are:

• To work alongside the manager and staff to ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled.
• To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children placed in Mount Zion Childcare.
• To promote children’s welfare in a safe and secure environment.
• To give support to other personnel within Mount Zion Childcare.
• To ensure parents and carers participation in their child’s development.
• To ensure that all procedures and policies are followed.

Your Main Duties are:

• To operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range attending the nursery in conjunction with other staff.
• To assist and develop in the preparation of children’s records, observations and reviews for parents in conjunction with other staff.
• To work alongside parents of special needs children to give full integration in the nursery.
• Support all staff and engage in a good staff meeting.
• To ensure that all rooms are appropriately laid out before commencement and tidied away at the end of the day.
• Liase with and support parents and other family members.
• Attend monthly staff meetings outside working hours, when required.
• Undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.
