Head of Services

Acceptable Enterprises Ltd, AEL, is a limited company with charitable status providing training and support to enable people with disadvantage, particularly those with learning disability to fulfil their work potential. 

This new post, Head of Services, is being created due to the success and expansion of AEL.  This is an exciting time in the development of AEL and the AEL Board and Senior Management recognise the need to enhance the capability of AEL’s Senior Management Team. 

The Head of Services will be responsible for managing and overseeing all AEL’s training programmes and developing the social benefit of the organisation.  

This role also involves effective coordination of Acceptable Enterprises Ltd business activities with our social objectives. The details of the job functions and specific eligibility criteria are set out in the application pack. 

It is expected that the person will have a proven track record of enhancing the lives of people with a learning disability through the design and delivery of appropriate accredited training thus enabling them to become more ready for the world of work and achieve their potential. 

The role requires the ability to manage staff and provide services to trainees through a range of different projects.  The successful person will have good people management skills and also project and budget management. 

The role also requires someone who will have well developed communication skills, written and oral and who has energy and enthusiasm for working within this sector. 

Initially the remit of the post will concentrate on the programme delivery within AEL but is anticipated that the role will expand to include management and leadership of other services provided by AEL.

Selection arrangements

Full details of the selection process will be provided in the invitation to interview. 

It is anticipated that applicants will be notified of whether they have been selected for interview or not by mid December 2016.  

Interviews may be held before Christmas or early in the New Year.  

An unseen presentation will form a part of the selection process.  In addition at interview candidates will be questioned about their experience regarding the main functions of this post.
