Depaul are seeking to recruit 2 Floating Support Workers for their Harm Reduction service located on Strand Road in Derry/Londonderry. The positions are Fixed term until February 2017.

Our aim is to work with those who are socially excluded and marginalised by providing a quality led service in order to produce the best possible outcomes for those accessing our services. We work in partnership with central and local government, housing associations and other non-governmental organisations.

HSS16/16 - FLOATING SUPPORT WORKER – HARM REDUCTION

(2 positions)

Fixed term (until February 2017)

Full Time – 35 Hours per week (shifts to be worked in line with Service Users’ requirement)

LOCATION: Strand Road – L’Derry/Derry

SALARY: £16,230 per annum.

The ideal candidate will be part of a central based team which enables the project to continue to offer a comprehensive service to an increasing number of street Drinkers and to Agencies who have become aware of, and are involved within our suite of services. Candidates will be required to work within a satellite community setting.  Using harm reduction approaches to substance use, the project also targets service users within the community whose tenancies are at risk because of the consequences of their substance use.

Candidates must possess a certificate/diploma in community, Health or Social Science based subject and have 2 year’s full time (part time equivalent) experience of working in the area of community development/voluntary sector in a paid, or voluntary capacity. Applicants should have access to a means of transport to meet the requirements of this post.
