Early Years Officer - Part-time / Temporary

To provide childcare as necessary in order to maintain the safety and development of children at Ballybeen Women’s Centre. To monitor and assist in aspects of children’s development, as identified in the care plan, of children in the childcare facility.

Part-time temporary post from May 2017 - 31 March 2018 and thereafter subject to funding.  Salary is £15,712.32 per annum, pro rata to be confirmed.  15 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9.00 am - 12.00 pm

Essential: Minimum NVQ Level II Childcare in Education (or equivalent).  Possess a good standard of literacy & numeracy skills.  12 months direct work with children less than 5 years old.  Experience of developing & implementing programmes for children.  Recognition of child protection & procedures together with experience of applying child protection procedures.  Ability to communicate effectively with professionals, parents & colleagues. Possess recording skills & report writing.  Be able to plan, prioritise & time manage.  Have had involvement in the assessment of children's needs.  Possess knowledge of child development & child behaviour.  Be able to promote equal opportunity & anti-discriminatory practice.  Knowledge of human growth & development.  Desirable specialist training in special needs, anti-discriminatory practice, legislation & requirements relevant to children & social care, risk assessment (health & safety), information technology & first aid.
