Young Enterprise are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to facilitate the high quality delivery of enterprise programmes to a targeted number of young people aged 4 – 25 in the Belfast area.

Young Enterprise, the leading business education charity helps more than 100,000 young people aged 4-25 each year to understand how business works, delivering its programmes in schools and colleges throughout the country, supported by a network of volunteers from the world of business.

The Development Officer will facilitate the high quality delivery of enterprise programmes to a targeted number of young people aged 4 - 25, which will involve maintaining and developing excellent relationships with key stakeholders in the Belfast area. The post holder will mostly be based in an office in Belfast but the role will also require some travel across the Belfast area to meet with volunteers and schools. The role is for a fixed term and is available as soon as possible until 30 September 2015 and is part time. The hours will be 20+ per week; Mon – Fri 9-1 or 3 days per week 9-5, to be agreed. The salary is pro-rata part time.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Third level education e.g. HND, degree and minimum of one year relevant experience or three years relevant experience (please refer to job description)
  • Experience of working with young people (either in a voluntary or employed capacity)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills; please demonstrate with examples to include presentation delivery and report writing
  • IT literate – please demonstrate with examples proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications, and/or a recognised IT qualification e.g. ECDL
  • Access to a car/own transport facilities and where applicable, a current valid driving licence and willing to travel across Belfast area and other areas as required.

 Desirable Criteria:

  • Evidence of successful meeting targets and deadlines
  • Experience of working in the business and/or education sector in Northern Ireland and knowledge of these networks
  • Experience of volunteer management, training and recruitment
  • Recognised relevant training or facilitation qualification.
