Dementia Support Worker - Antrim and Ballymena

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Team. The service you will provide will involve giving support, information and guidance to a person with dementia or their carers. This could be in the client's own home, at service offices or at other locations, face to face, by phone, letter or email. The service may include signposting and providing referrals to other services.

The individual will have an understanding of dementia and the needs of people with dementia and their carers, good organisation and time management skills and the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

It is essential that you have experience of designing and delivering training/education modules and an understanding of how groups work and their value. You should have experience of report writing, an understanding of voluntary and statutory services and be able to travel independently within the service area.

You will possess NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience.  It is desirable that you have experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies.

The support you provide will help people with dementia and their carers maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being and putting them in more control of their lives.

A satisfactory disclosure from Access NI is required for this post. This post is based in Antrim and you will be covering the Antrim and Ballymena area.
