We are recruiting for an exciting new role in our Fundraising Team. Your will be to develop relationships, maximise income and raise the profile of Cancer Fund for Children in the Newcastle/County Down area.

Role Overview

Working closely alongside the Fundraising Manager and the wider Fundraising and Services Team, the job has three distinct but connected strands:

1. To nurture, develop and manage key fundraising relationships with Cancer Fund for Children Community donors.
2. To maximise income from Community, Corporate, Schools, Support Group and Individual income in the area surrounding Cancer Fund for Children’s unique Therapeutic Short Break Centre, Daisy Lodge, through organisation and support of donor led events ensuring they enhance the profile of Cancer Fund for Children and to encourage support of the charity’s core events.
3. To strategically develop new Cancer Fund for Children supporters from the wider community in the Newcastle, Ballynahinch, Newry and Downpatrick area.

Main Responsibilites

1.1 To work as part of the Income Generation team to:

  • Deliver on forecast income in the annual fundraising plan;
  • Ensure maximum cross selling through the team;
  • Ensure information sharing is utilised across all the team.

1.2 To be responsible for nurturing, developing and managing key fundraising relationships with Cancer Fund for Children donors in the Daisy Lodge region and to monitor and report on progress of these fundraising relationships to the Fundraising Manager.

1.3 To take responsibility for supporting the logistics, marketing and PR, where appropriate, of Daisy Lodge area Fundraising events held on behalf of Cancer Fund For Children in line with fundraising legalities and best practice, working where necessary, with the Communication and Marketing Team.

1.4 To provide high levels of support & donor care in maintaining, fostering and enhancing relationships with existing, new and potential contacts.

1.5  To be responsible for maximising the financial outcome of all leads generated from Daisy Lodge regional fundraising.

1.6 To work closely with all other Income Generation Team members to ensure all marketing opportunities and administration requirements are introduced and maintained to enable effective promotion, analysis and monitoring of income and activities from Daisy Lodge region contacts.

1.7 To ensure Income Generation Database is used accurately to record income and communication with all contacts.

1.8 To provide high levels of support and donor care in maintaining, fostering and enhancing relationships with Cancer Fund for Children Support Groups.

  • Ensure donors are acknowledged with appropriate Thank You methods – newsletter, Daisy Lodge visits, certificates etc. 
  • To support all Marketing/PR needs required.

2. Financial Responsibilities:

2.1 To generate the agreed target set out in the Daisy Lodge Regional Income Budget.

2.2 To work within an agreed expenditure budget relating to specific expenditure.

2.3 To provide written reports on the progress of Daisy Lodge Regional Fundraising events and income as required by the Fundraising Manager.

2.4 To track performance against target, budget and return on investment, through joint review meetings with Fundraising Manager.

3.General Responsibilities:

3.1 To attend regular team meetings.

3.2 To represent Cancer Fund for Children as directed by the Fundraising Manager.

3.3 To comply with all Cancer Fund for Children Policies, procedures and guidelines and current legislative requirements.

3.4 To be available for ongoing professional development/training opportunities.

3.5 To be available for planning, review, support and appraisal meetings.

3.6 To perform any other reasonable duties and specific projects as assigned by management to contribute to the overall aims of Cancer Fund for Children.
