Childcare Worker

Main Duties:

1. To provide an overall safe, stimulating, caring and varied programme of play and learning opportunities for all children who attend Sure Start programmes.

2. To promote the overall development of children and to work in the interest of the children at all times and provide a welcoming child centred environment.

3. To contribute to the development of children specific to their needs and to seek professional advice if the situation arises.

4. To develop a supportive relationship with parents/carers and encourage parental involvement within the Sure Start project.

  5. To develop and maintain good relationships with children, parents, colleagues, volunteers, students, other agencies, community groups, schools and nurseries.

  6. To ensure preparation and maintenance of all facilities required, such as rooms, materials and equipment and ensure all facilities and resources are left clean and tidy after sessions.

7.  To ensure good standard of hygiene and safety and observe all relevant health and safety rules and guidelines etc.
