CAUSE is a vibrant regional charity which provides practical and emotional support to empower families, partners and friends caring for a loved one with serious mental illness. CAUSE is unique in that we are a peer-led carers’ organisation.
As a Carer Advocate, the successful candidate will provide help to carers from the North & West Belfast area including one-to-one advocacy, support group facilitation, Helpline support and engaging with carers on service and policy development. S/he will work closely with statutory health and social care agencies and other community and voluntary groups.
The successful candidate will have personal experience of providing support to a loved one who has experienced serious mental illness. The appointee will be a self-starter who enjoys variety in work, is prepared to work flexibly and preferably have a post-secondary level of education.
