Recruiting for an experienced Café Manager for our Social Enterprise The Garden Café - St Patrick Visitor Centre to manage all operational aspects of the social business, ensuring a great experience for local community and visitors from around the world

Salary £20,253 - £22,212,  depending on experience  (37 Hours per week with weekend work on a rota basis)

  • The ideal candidate must have previous experience as café manager, financial skills  and the ability to maximise performance of the staff  team and the profit making of the business.

  • You must be  motivated to deliver consistent high standards of food and service quality, with the management skills to develop and manage the café.

  • The job involves managing all the operational aspects to ensure the smooth running of the Café, including front of house, food serving and preparation of coffee at barista standard, stock management, dealing with suppliers, organising staff rotas, financial procedures and record keeping.

  • You must be motivated and passionate about food, people ,customer service and making a real difference.

 

The Café Manager will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the efficient and professional day to day operations of the Garden café at the St Patricks Centre Downpatrick to ensure the success of the social enterprise.  
  • Duties include: front of house, meeting and greeting, serving of customers, food display, food orders, financial procedures and staff management, stock take, ensuring profit margins.
  • Assist with the business development, marketing and promotion to key customer stakeholders i.e local community, local business, visitors to the St Patricks Centre including bus tours and bus tour companies.
  • Staff management of staff including casual staff  and trainees to ensure excellent standards of customer service and quality product offering.Ensuring that annual business targets are met and adequate stock management processes are in place and adhered to.
  • Ensuring that Food Hygiene quality standards and legal requirements are in place and adhered too in relation to food hygiene &, health and safety.
  • Ensuring that all administrative procedures and financial procedures are followed accurately including staff time sheets, cash management , purchase orders,  bookings.
