Breakfast Club Leader

To work in the breakfast club providing a safe, caring and and stimulating environment for children.
To maintain a positive working relationship with parents, carers and professionals to promote the wellbeing of children

Duties

  • Assist in the delivery of the breakfast club

  • Ensuring the club is set up and ready

  • Organise activities for the children and young people at the club and in the community

  • Serving of food to children

  • Maintain effective records of activities for monitoring and evaluation purposes

  • Complete the approiate procedures for the registration of the children at the breakfast club

  • Ensure the well- being and safety of children at all times

  • Adhere to the 1989 Childrens Act regulations and at all times keep to the ratios of qualified adults to set out in the OFSTED registartion whilst children participate in activities and trips

  • Liaise with parents and keep them informed of developments or incidents/ problems as and when they arise

  • Carry out risk assessments in the breakfast club on a daily basis and at all venus where children will be taken to

  • Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to at all times

  • Keep records of all accidents, incidents and activities and to fully complete all the necessary forms

  • Be aware of procedures for reporting child abuse to the named child protection officer, to ensure child protection procedures are follwed at all times

  • Undertake training approiate to the post ( Child protection, first aid)

  • Attend meetings with fellow staff and committee  

Personal Specification
Necessary experience and qualifications
  • An understanding of healthy eating

  • Basic first aid certificate

  • Evidence of experience of looking after childrens safety and well- being 

  • Evidence of experience of working with policies, procedures and guidelines

  • Evidence of experience and understanding of working successfully as a member of a team

  • A certificate in safeguarding training

  • Willingness to be part of the club community and communicate effectively with parents, carers and the team

  • The successful candidate will have a disclosure and barring service check (DBS)

  • The successful candidate will have evidence of good attendance at work
