Course Overview
The adult world can sometimes be confusing and unsettling for a young child to understand. This workshop is designed to support childcarers, parents, family members and guardians in creating a common ground with the little ones that they are responsible for. It will provide insight and information on how to effectively communicate with children at their own level, encourage positive behaviour and development, and establish a strong relationship between adult and child.

- The importance of communicating with a young child in a way that they understand
- How to ensure that your child feels safe and secure in the family
- How other parents communicate with their children
Topics covered include:
- Communicating with a young child
- Developing an understanding of what it is like to be a small child in the adult world
- Managing and responding to your child’s feelings
- Practical evidence-based strategies and approaches you can use to create positive solutions for your family
- Sharing your experiences and insights with other parents/childcarers

Participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion of this workshop as evidence of personal learning and development.
