Where: Offices of Cookstown Rural Community Transport, Unit 4 Derryloran Business Centre, Cookstown BT80 9LU

Cost: New DAT £700.00, DAT £350.00

Full Driver Assessor Trainer (DAT) Course (£700.00)

• This is a 4 day intensive course to train trainers of MiDAS Drivers - emphasis given to risk assessment and hazard perception. A detailed minibus driving practical is included as well as assessment of the use of accessible equipment to help assist disabled passengers. Presentation skills are also included in the package.
• Delegates will be required to complete a 10 minute presentation as part of course assessment
• Delegates will be trained to show others how to secure wheelchairs in adapted minibuses
• Note: all new DATs must have held a driver MiDAS certificate for at least 3 months before the date of the DAT course.
• This course stretches over 4 days. Delegates must attend all days in order to qualify.

DAT Refresher (£350.00)

• If you currently hold a DAT certificate, to keep it valid, it must be refreshed every 2 years.
• If your DAT certificate has expired you have a 3 month period in which you must Refresh – beyond this date you will have to complete the full DAT course.
• DAT refresher course is over 1 day (either Thursday 29 or Friday 30 may) – the course dates will be confirmed by the MiDAS Training Agent no later than Friday 16 May.
• All DATs wishing to be refreshed must include their current DAT certificate number on the course booking form.
• All Refresher DATs will have to deliver a 10 minute presentation as part of the assessment
• All Refresher DATs will have to complete a practical demonstrating how to secure a wheelchair within an adapted minibus
