Looking to take part in more literary events and festivals? Or maybe you want to improve your skill set for readings, panel discussions and interviews.

The Irish Writers Centre is delighted to present Mindshift: The Connected Writer in association with the Crescent Arts Centre.

This professional development day for emerging and established writers, supported by Words Ireland, will inform you on how to get the gig and how to connect with audiences. Hear from writers, events programmers and festival directors as they discuss knowing your USPs, connecting with relevant organisers, and the etiquette of ‘getting out there’. Preparation, your onstage presence and the dos and don’ts of literary performances will also be tackled.

Keith Acheson of the Crescent Arts Centre and Belfast Book Festivalwill be in conversation with Cathy Brown of the Seamus Heaney Homeplace and Bert Wright of the Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival to discuss how writers should approach literary festivals and events organisers. Full line-up to be announced soon.

- Writer Louise Phillips will lead a session on promoting your work – and yourself – in the competitive marketplace. Should you be active on social media? What does it mean to be 'a brand'? These, among many other relevant questions, will be tackled.

- Hear from performer, producer, playwright and dramaturg Michelle Readwho will coach you through the do's and don'ts of prepping for stage appearances and offer tips on how to boost your confidence.
