Community Relations Council
The conference is seeking views on two key Government initiatives
1. Public Policy and Peace Walls
The Ulster University will present key findings from its ESRC funded policy papers in relation to:
- the challenge of agreeing a common understanding of the removal of the peace walls;
- the challenge of delivery; and
- the challenge of engaging communities
Delegates will also be presented with findings from a recent attitudinal survey in relation to the challenges of removing peace walls by 2023 and given the opportunity to inform the future design proposals for addressing interface challenges.
2. OFMDFM proposal on a T:BUC Community Engagement Forum
Conference delegates will examine the draft Terms of Reference for the establishment of the Together: Building a United Community Engagement Forum.
The forum aims to provide a formal mechanism for stakeholders to contribute to a range of policy and practice interventions for example T:BUC priorities; and it will also use the expertise of forum members to:
- help strengthen community engagement;
- inform policy direction; and
- be influential in supporting peace-building
