Integration and a Sense of Belonging in Northern Ireland?

Cost: FREE

Are you from a minority ethnic background? What are the main issues affecting your sense of integration and belonging in Northern Ireland?

NICEM works to ensure that people from minority ethnic backgrounds, whether they are newcomers or have lived here for years or generations, can become part of a welcoming society here and express their sense of belonging in Northern Ireland.  To help us with this work we need to understand how you and your community feel about living in Northern Ireland and what are the main issues that need to be addressed to improve your integration and sense of belonging.

We wish to invite ethnic minority community representatives to share the concerns of their communities in three facilitated consultation meetings.  We hope that you will be willing to tell us what you think as we wish to ensure everyone has been given the chance to share their views.  NICEM have asked Geraldine Scullion and Sheila Rogers to facilitate three meetings across Northern Ireland:

Craigavon on April 15th from 11-1pm

L/Derry on April 25th from 6-8pm and

Belfast on 7th May from 3-5pm

By attending a meeting and completing an online questionnaire you will help NICEM get a better understanding of the main issues affecting you and your community. We will use the information you provide to lobby the Northern Ireland Assembly and UK authorities to take action to address your concerns.

Please contact Mark at NICEM to reserve a place at one of the meetings.  To complete our short online questionnaire please visit:

The deadline for completed questionnaires is May 12th 2014.
