This full day course (10-3pm) explores the main features associated with Autism and strategies to support individuals with ASD.
Course aimed at:
Parents, Extended family members, Support Staff, Teachers, Classroom Assistants.
Course objectives:
- Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- Main features associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Understanding of communication issues.
- Awareness of the implications of a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Have an understanding of the impact of ASD and the difficulties encountered by those individuals affected
- To identify and be aware of various strategies.
Level 1 Course Basic Awareness AQA award certificate
Assessment Qualification Alliance qualification (optional) will take place after the workshop and should approximately take half an hour.
AQA – Unit Award Scheme provides the opportunity to gain formal recognition of success in short courses by recording achievement.
