DAERA Departmental Monitoring Group

NICVA

NICVA

Cost: Free to NICVA members

The first DAERA Departmental Monitoring Group will focus on the Programme for Government and whether the outcomes, indicators and measures are rural focused.

NICVA’s Departmental Monitoring Groups are groups of people from across the voluntary and community sector who meet 4 times a year to discuss policy issues relevant to their interests.  Each DMG mirrors the structures of government to focus on issues relevant to each government department’s areas of responsibility. The first Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Departmental Monitoring Group meeting will focus on the Programme for Government and whether the outcomes, indicators and measures are focused enough on the needs of rural areas. There will be a representation from the Programme for Government team delivering a presentation on behalf of government.

The Draft Programme for Government Framework 2016-2021 has been published for consultation which closes on the 22nd July. The Draft Framework has taken an Outcomes Based Accountability approach and contains fourteen outcomes and 42 indicators and measures.

The next stage of the development of the Programme for Government will be taking on board all views expressed during the consultation which will inform the final document and the action plans. The action plans will be out for public consultation in September.

The Executive is committed to hearing the views of voluntary and community sector groups in order to inform the final document and action plans.

The event takes place on Wednesday, 6 July 2016 from 2pm to 4pm in Rural Community Network, 38a Oldtown St, Cookstown and is open to NICVA members. Not a member? Join today!
