Who Should Attend:
This course is for persons who wish to be able to demonstrate safe and appropriate practice when using an AED in line with current Resuscitation Council Protocols.
Although no previous knowledge is necessary we at Health Matters (Health & Safety) Ltd strongly recommend that participants be in possession of a current First Aid at Work Certificate.
Course Objectives
By the end of the session participants should be able to:
- Effectively communicate in an emergency
- Have a basic understanding of ventricular fibrillation
- Know what makes a victim suitable/unsuitable for defibrillation
- Carry out Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation in an emergency
- Utilise their clubs external defibrillator safely and in line with manufacturer’s instructions
- Be aware of the maintenance requirements of AEDs
- Carry out appropriate record keeping relating to the use of AED's
