This Food Safety in Catering award is designed to ensure that all participants are aware of food safety in preparation and storage for eventual service to the public.

Level 1 training is the starting point for learning Makaton. It is recommended for: - parents, family members, carers and workers who need to use Makaton at home and in their work - participants who need a more detailed knowledge about using and applying Makaton to develop the communication skills of others

This training is delivered over two evenings and you MUST attend both. It is also recommended that Designated Officers have taken a Child Protection course in the past 3 years.

The 2hr workshop covers everything from Bleeding, Burns, Broken Bones, Seizures, Responsive, Unresponsive and Defib (and any others the groups want). The motto of their first aid is – easy to learn, easy to recall. It is First Aid made simple to build your confidence and take the fear away.

Makaton Taster Session takes 90 minutes and provides an introduction to Makaton and how it can support language and communication development.

This course is 3hrs and suited to those who would like to gain first time knowledge of safeguarding children and adults. It is also suitable for those who wish to update their safeguarding knowledge.

If you are not sure whether Makaton training is for you, try a Makaton Taster session. This short session is designed for people who are interested in finding out about Makaton and deciding whether or not to attend Makaton training. The Taster gives you a general introduction into what Makaton is and who uses it, with the opportunity to learn a few signs and symbols too. Participants receive handouts covering the vocabulary they have learned and general information regarding further Makaton training and Makaton resources.
