Muscular Dystrophy Campaign

United Kingdom

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is the leading UK charity fighting muscle-wasting conditions.

We are currently seeking volunteers for a wide range of opportunities to help in the fight against muscle disease, and have something to suit everyone, full training, on-going support and expenses provided. There are approximately 2 000 people in Northern Ireland directly affected by one of over 60 forms of muscle disease which result in disability and in many cases greatly reduced life expectancy. The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign pioneers medical research into improving treatments and finding cures. We have an excellent international reputation for progress in this field; which has led to stage three clinical trials that are currently taking place. The charity also offers free information and advice about care and support to families affected by muscle disease and funds a Family Weekend to share experiences and offer support. We also provide grants for specialised equipment to maximise independence and campaign to raise awareness and bring about change.
