Mollie is still serving others after 100 years

A Ballymoney lady who just celebrated her 100th birthday has put the secret of her longevity down to hard work, clean living and taking an interest in those less fortunate than herself.

Ballymoney lady who just celebrated her 100th birthday has put the secret of her longevity down to hard work, clean living and taking an interest in those less fortunate than herself.

Mollie Holmes OBE was independent mayor of Ballymoney from 1977 to 1985 and served as a councillor from 1955 to 1985 – the first woman on Ballymoney Urban Council.

Asked if she followed any special regime, she answers that she "always liked good plain food".
