MISS NI ‘TAKES THE PLUNGE’ FOR N.I HOSPICE

Miss NI, Tiffany Brien is taking the plunge for Hospice by registering for the charity’s annual Coffee Morning in September. The recently crowned Miss NI put her feet up at the shore and relaxed with a coffee ahead of Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

This year Northern Ireland Hospice will be celebrating the 20th birthday of the annual Coffee Morning and as one of the local charity’s biggest fundraising events, they are keen to make it the biggest and best to date by encouraging as many people to take a break for hospice.

Speaking about the event and her willingness to support the cause by hosting a coffee party, Tiffany Brien said,

‘’I am delighted to continue the legacy as ambassador for Northern Ireland Hospice and have been inspired by the amazing work which the charity does in the local community.  I would encourage everyone to take a break this September and raise money for local Hospice services.  Something so simple as a coffee party can raise £30, enough money to provide an hour of specialist nursing care for a patient being cared for at home.  It’s all about taking small steps to make a big difference.’’

Taking part could not be easier and everyone who registers a coffee party with Northern Ireland Hospice will receive everything they need to host the perfect party including a supply of complimentary Bewley’s coffee!  Posters, invite cards, collection boxes and ideas for making the most of the occasion will also be supplied in every fundraising pack.  All you will need to do is brew the coffee, invite some friends and collect a £2 donation for every cup poured.

Explaining the importance of holding a coffee party for Hospice is Events Fundraiser,Lynn Boyce:

‘‘We recognise that carers looking after a loved one who is terminally ill need for too; that’s why this year we are encouraging everyone to host a coffee party for Hospice, weather it be at home, work, school or at your local club or organisation.  Our specialist Hospice at Home nurses can allow families and carers a rest knowing their loved one is in safe hands.  With your support, we can ensure that more patients are able to remain in the comfort of their own home surrounded by family.  So, go on, pop the kettle on and have a Bewley’s Coffee for Hospice this September.’’

Ireland Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice will be held on Thursday 20th September, but if this date doesn’t suit you can hold your coffee party any time in September or October and if coffee isn’t your thing then why not hold a tea party or a juice party instead!
