Job Title: Youth Support Worker Salary: £9.08 per hour Hours: 9 hours and 12 hours per week Duration: Until 31st March 2021 Dependant on Funding Responsible to: Senior Youth Worker

Essential Criteria
Applicants must have, as at the closing date for receipt of application forms:
•    A minimum OCNNI level 2 in Youth Work or equivalent. 
•    A proven track record of 2 years or more experience in development and delivery of the youth work curriculum in various settings.
•    Evidence of ability to form close working relationships and communicate effectively with young people
•    An understanding of the issues facing children and young people from disadvantaged communities
•    Child protection training undertaken in the last 2 years or the willingness to undertake child protection training prior to commencement.
•    Able and willing to work unsociable hours including weekends and holidays
•    Evidence of good verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to work in a team. 
•    Ability to work on own initiative. 
•    Evidence of creativity and flexibility when working with young people 
•    Commitment to equality and challenging all forms of discrimination. 

Desirable criteria: 

One or all of the desirable criteria may be used to shortlist applicants
•    Experience of Mentoring young people
•    Experience of outreach and/ or detached youth work.
