Youth Support Worker
St Oliver Plunkett Youth Club Crossmaglen
The purpose of the youth support worker is to work directly with young [people to develop their social education by providing a programme of activities, and ensure that the young people play an active role and work towards a model of youth participation under the Education Authority' s "model for Effective Practice" regulations. The various hours will be flexible and will include evening and weekend work - these will depend on the specific programme.
Enthusiastic workers are required for this rewarding and enjoyable post along with:
Minimum of 2 years experience in youth work
Experience in promoting the participation of young people
Experience in working with young people aged 13+
Knowledge of Priorities of Youth, and Youth work curriculum
The ability to design, deliver, and evaluate programmes to young people
The ability to work with young people in a group work setting
The ability to communicate effectively and develop a rapport with young people
