Youth Navigator (Maternity Cover)

The project will also involve:

•    Better signposting to advice and guidance;
•    Access to training and employment opportunities;
•    Accredited training in life skills to enable the young people to be safe, empowered, in control, informed and active within their own local community;
•    Enhancing social skills, physical and mental health, independence and coping skills for when things ‘go wrong’.

Young people will be in the lead in this project through:

•    The establishment of a leadership forum;
•    Steering Group;
•    User Panel of Young people to design promotional materials and;
•    A Person-Centered approach with a strong user-led ethos.  

The Role:

The Youth Navigator will be responsible for setting up and developing the project, accountable for the outcomes being met and will have line management responsibility for a Project Officer who will work closely with the young people and their families/carers.   

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, motivated self-starter with proven project management experience and knowledge of the needs and challenges that face young people going through transition. There is also great scope for creative thinking and innovation in this role – working within a supportive team.
