Job Title:                    Youth Leader in Charge

Applicants must:

Be a qualified youth worker (Diploma or above in Youth Work) with a minimum of two years experience in a variety of youth work setting.

Or

Have a Diploma or above in a related discipline (for example Community Development. Communtiy Relations or Social Work) with a minimum of three years experience in a variety of youth work settings

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Youth Leader will operate as part of a team responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of the Youth Project.  The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to coordinate the planning, delivery and evaluation of the youth project.

MAIN DUTIES

  1. Coordinate, develop and manage the project in line with the funding criteria, empowering disadvantaged children and young people, developing their personal and social development.
  1. Focus on the personal and social development of children and young people using a range of programme methods and activities.
  1. Develop, implement and evaluate youth participation programmes suitable for very low motivated disadvantaged marginalised children and young people.
  1. Co-ordinate the project, part time staff and volunteers to achieve the agreed outcomes.
  1. Facilitate youth participation and leadership development through the youth committee.
  1. Promote the programme and all youth programmes and activities.
  1. Recruit children and young people to participate in all youth programmes and manage service referrals.
  1. Provide and facilitate workshops and programmes addressing issues relevant to the project participants and outcomes.
  1. Respond to the specific needs of disadvantaged children and young people as they arise and address matters raised by participants.
  1. Ensure the project outcomes are measured, monitored and evaluated on a regular basis, ensure proper reviewing, evaluation and analysis of evaluation data takes place and findings are recorded and reported to the line manager and Management Committee. 
  1. Ensure the implementation and monitoring of health and safety, safe guarding, risk assessment, incident and accidents reporting systems. 
  1. Submit and discuss with line manager quarterly and annual progress reports which reflect the objectives of the project. 
  1. Manage the programme budget in line with REACT’s financial procedures and funders requirements
  1. Liaise with the relevant statutory and community organisations and attend Family support Hub anbd CYPSP meetings. 
  1. Ensure the effective management of the projects filing and record system.

  

GENERAL DUTIES

  1. To work as an active and integral part of the REACT team
  2. To work with other staff on issues relating to REACT when appropriate to the effective delivery of the organisation’s strategic plan
  3. To undertake such other duties as shall be reasonably required from time to time
