Youth Engagement Coordinator

Ardoyne Youth Enterprise

We're looking for a Youth Engagement Coordinator (YEC) to contribute to the development of AYE, with particular focus on youth engagement, developing programmes and supporting the team. Currently funded to 31/3/20.

Would you like to be part of the AYE Team?

Ardoyne Youth Enterprise (AYE) seeks to appoint a Youth Engagement Coordinator to promote, coordinate and deliver a range of inspiring and creative programmes in Ardoyne and neighbouring communities in North Belfast.

You will manage a team of three youth engagement workers who are working to improve the lives of young people locally. Alongside your team you will link young people to opportunities, broaden their horizons and help them reach their full potential in society.

As well as our enthusiastic and committed team, you will work closely with a range of other youth workers and organisations all committed to making young people's lives better.

This post allows flexibility in work patterns, a great office and drop-in location, lovely views of Divis Mountain and, for the right applicant, the opportunity to develop and deliver youth programmes that do things just that little bit differently.

No two-weeks are the same here but right now we are planning and delivering residentials, good relations programmes, environmental improvement projects, outdoors pursuits courses, video-diaries, gardening programmes, minibus driver training, training in Youth Work and mental health, physical fitness courses, summer intervention programmes, study-visits, and enhanced outreach and detached programmes.

Candidates will probably need to be fun-loving, motivated, challenge-munching superheroes, with a 'get stuck-in' attitude. For other essential criteria please see the attached job-specification. And don't be afraid to contact us prior to filling in the application if you want to ask questions.

The core hours of the job are 29 hours per week but there are additional hours available throughout the year, which can bring the salary above £20k.

Download the application pack here, or if you have any questions, ring Shane on 028 9074 1479. We would love to hear from you.
