Volunteering within the Social Economy Departments at East Belfast Mission
East Belfast Mission
The Social Economy projects at EBM are in need of volunteer help to run projects such as the restore charity shops and the recycling projects.
Volunteers will learn new skills and meet new friends but they will also play a vital part in helping to keep our projects running. Shops require lots of help with many tasks including operating the till, admin, answering the phone, covering a managers day off, dealing with customers, merchandising the shop window or shop floor, cleaning and tidying in general and many other apsects of the day to day runnning of a shop. We currently have 8 restore shops selling mainly second-hand furniture
In the recycle projects, we have a several projects. Refurb restores second-hand furniture items. These items may be repainted or even recovered and then send to our restore shops to be sold on at very competitive prices. Help is needed with the work that goes into this project so if you can help please call today.
In the same way that we restore furniture, we take second-hand bikes and repair them for reselling in our shops. Again, if you feel you can help in any way and learn a new skill you are very welcome to join us and volunteers some hours at the centre on the Crumlin Road Belfast.
If you would like to volunteer with us and learn new skills or if you would simply like to give your free time to a charity that needs your help, contact Lynsey for further information on 028 9045 8560 or email [email protected]
