Volunteer Social Car Scheme Drivers

Fermanagh Community Transport

Other
Volunteer out of pocket expenses at 45p per dead mile and 50p per passenger mile, along with other legitimate out of pock expenses.
Fermanagh Community Transport is currently looking to recruit volunteer drivers from right across Fermanagh for its Social Car Scheme. We'd love to hear from you if you'd be interested in making a real difference within your community!

Purpose of FCT:

To provide affordable and accessible rural transport services throughout rural Fermanagh with the key aim of reducing social exclusion and isolation for those rural communities who do not have access to either public transport or their own private transport.

Volunteer Role Purpose

FCT Volunteers give their time freely for the benefit of others, using their own car, to provide essential door-to-door transport for passengers identified by Fermanagh Community Transport as having difficulties using public or other forms of transport.

  • Do you like driving?
  • Do you like helping people?
  • Do you have time to spare?

If you have answered yes to each of the above questions, then our volunteering opportunity may just be for you.  You will be helping some of our most vulnerable elderly and disabled members make essential trips to GP surgeries, hospital, shops, friends and social activities.  These trips are 'life-lines' to our members for whom public transport is simply not an option, nor do they have access to their own private transport.  In this role, you can make a real difference to the quality of life of your passengers.  You'll be opening up opportunities to our vulnerable members who otherwise would be unable to get out and about and take part within their community and society.

If you are interested, please check out the Volunteer Role Description and Specification, as well as the Volunteer Application Form and Volunteer Equality Monitoring Form.  Alternatively, please feel free to ring the office and speak informally to Lara on 028 66 324260 or email [email protected]

We'd love to hear from you and welcome you as part of a great team!
