Our Volunteer Coordinators are at the centre of Rosie’s Trust success. In this role, you will support a number of beneficiaries and volunteer teams with day to day service delivery.

Our Volunteer Coordinators are at the centre of Rosie’s Trust success. Our Volunteer Coordinators are the link between our beneficiaries and teams of volunteers, not only keeping owners and their pets together but ensuring that our volunteers feel part of a team. 

You will support a number of beneficiaries and volunteer teams with day to day service delivery, this could range from welcoming a new volunteer to the team, arranging a team rota to supporting a beneficiary with a vet visit. 

The role is varied, flexible and rewarding, if you like interacting with people and their pets then this is the role for you.

You will be part of a team, volunteering alongside other volunteer coordinators and will be supported by our Development Officers and staff team.

What will you be doing

  • Support new beneficiaries by completing initial assessments and explaining what Rosie’s Trust does
  • Support volunteers in your team via communications, introducing them to new beneficiaries and dealing with any queries they may have
  • Provide administrative support by maintaining a weekly rota for your volunteer teams
  • Providing ad hoc pet care e.g. dog walking or vet visits if another volunteer is unavailable
  • Maintain regular communications with the Development Officer and relay any concerns or changes in your volunteer teams

Time expectation

It is normal for our volunteer coordinators to spend 6 - 8 hours per week in the role. Flexibility is key as activity over a weekday, evening or weekend is common.

Where role will be based

Home based but supporting within your identified geographical area.

The skills and attributes that make a great volunteer coordinator are:

  • Ability and confidence in working with small animals
  • Good communication skills
  • Recognise the importance of confidentiality
  • Be reliable with a degree of flexibility
  • Have access to a car and be willing to attend visits within a xx mile radius of your home address
  • Access to the Internet and confidence in using it

The support our volunteer coordinators receive includes:

  • Rosie’s Trust role specific induction
  • Training on all aspects of your role
  • A dedicated staff team who are on hand to help make sure you are confident in your role
  • Support and advice from other Rosie’s Trust Volunteer Coordinators 
  • Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses  

As a volunteer coordinator you will not only be making a big difference to people and their pets you will:

  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Make a real difference around the time that you can give to the role
  • Gain new skills, knowledge and experiences
