Voluntary Group Chairperson / Organiser (Banbridge)

Stroke Association

2.00
If you have excellent communication skills and the desire to make a difference, join us in supporting stroke survivors to rebuild their lives after stroke.

Stroke Association Voluntary Groups provide long term social and peer support to people affected by stroke. They organise events and meet together to reduce social isolation and rebuild the confidence of members. A Voluntary Group Chairperson takes on specific roles and responsibilities in leading and supporting the group volunteers. This is a great opportunity to get involved in your local community, meet new people and develop new skills.

To be an effective Voluntary Group Chairperson you will be someone who is experienced in taking the lead in personal or professional settings.

If you’re a person who enjoys managing small groups of people in order to develop supportive community activities, then this might be a good role for you.

As a chairperson or organiser you will play a significant role in supporting and developing a welcoming community for stroke survivors and carers in your area.

You need to be a great communicator, and have good organisational and IT skills.

You should be good at motivating people and allowing them to have a say.

The role provides an opportunity to engage with your local community, meet new people and to lead and develop a vibrant and engaging local team.

It also offers you a chance to gain and develop professional skills and increase your employability by volunteering with a well-respected charity.

We provide all our Group Chairpersons with training, so they feel confident in the role and can give the best possible support to stroke survivors.

Appropriate expenses will be reimbursed.

An Access NI check is required for this role.

When you are needed: Monday 14:00 - 16:00

Location: Community Space Tesco Extra Bridgewater Retail Park Banbridge BT32 4LF
