Orchardville is a registered charity under the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland. We have been supporting people with Learning Disabilities and / or Autism in employment in Belfast for over 35 years. Founded in 1982 by a group of parents and carers who sought a more challenging alternative to Day Centres, Orchardville has continued to grow geographically and the services offered have developed and expanded substantially over the years.

Salary: £19,430 per annum + 7% non-contributory pension scheme (after qualifying period).

Hours: 35 per week (Monday - Friday 9am - 4.30pm)

Location: 144 - 152 Ravenhill Road, Belfast

This post is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and will be offered on a maternity cover basis until approximately July 2019

The post-holder will:

Oversee design and print production processes within the Business Centre, whilst mentoring participants with a learning disability or autism in the use of office/production equipment; enhancing their employability and supporting opportunities for progression. Daily duties will include:

  • Prepress
    • Prepare documents provided by customers for print
    • Send PDF files to print via command workstation / Impose / Eduprint software
    • Scanning documents
  • Design
    • Produce and make amendments to customer’s artwork as required
    • Use of Adobe Creative Suite – Indesign (including mail merge), Photoshop etc
    • Use of a Mac to produce creative design for print and/or amend customer’s artwork as required
  • Print
    • Print of customer jobs – small format, large format, T-shirt
    • Finishing of printed materials using a range of print production equipment
    • Maintenance of printers and finishing equipment – Calibration and registration, changing rolls on large format
  • Sage accounts
    • Processing payments as required
    • Producing quotes and jobsheets for live jobs
  • Stock Control
  • Customer Liaison
  • Marketing
    • Produce quarterly e-shot marketing Business Centre products & services
    • Design of innovative Business Centre marketing and promotional literature
  • One to one support of project participants around the use of print finishing equipment and production software as required.
