Purpose of Job:
The Restore shops sell a range of good quality second hand clothes, furniture, books, bric-a-brac, refurbished furniture, bicycles and other household items.
As a Van Driver you will work closely with Shop managers and volunteers and act as the first point of contact for shops in relation to stock generation, stock transfer, collection and disposal.
The Van Driver will work on a planned schedule across the Larne/Antrim region to deliver and collect donated items of furniture and charity bags. A van is provided for daily use and this should be collected and returned to base each day.
Main Duties
- Collection and delivery of stock between shops with agreed timescales
- To undertake collections and deliveries of donated stock and furniture to and from customers and amenity sites as required
- Undertake house clearances as required
- Ensure all vehicle servicing is carried out and vehicles checks are made
- Complete administration processes i.e. collection and delivery dockets as required
- To act as ambassador for East Belfast Mission showing consideration when driving and excellent customer service
Personnel Specification
Essential
- Possess a full clean UK driving licence (C1 licence for van)
- Demonstrate previous recent experience of handling furniture and/or large domestic appliances
- As this is a physical role the ability to lift and carry multiple items including large, bulky furniture is essential
- Ability to work without supervision
- Good customer service skills
- Experience of multi-site collections and deliveries
- Good knowledge of local driving area
- Confident driving long distances each week to fulfil multi-site deliveries and collections
- A Basic Accessni disclosure will be required for this role
Desirable
- Experience of driving a commercial vehicle
- Experience of supervising volunteers
- D1 driving licence
