Work with young people in the Mid and East Antrim area who are hard to reach, isolated and those likely to engage in risk taking activities for personal development, health and community engagement. 3 month post. July until September 2019
Provide opportunities for young people to engage and develop their capacity to make informed choices about their health through:
Work with Individual Young people to offer:
- 1 to 1 support through a mentor so that they will cope better with everyday life
- Training in the areas of personal development and good relations so that they feel better about themselves
- Opportunity to participate in community engagement projects so that they can get involved in their community
Work with mentors to:
- Provide training for Mentors
- Act as a direct point of contact
- Provide support & supervision
- Develop a system of recording brief interventions
Work as part of the Youth team:
- To engage and build appropriate relationships with young people
- To refer, signpost services, opportunities and activities to young people across Mid and East Antrim as necessary
- Co-operate with other programme staff across the Association to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential
