About the organisation and aim of the post
Nexus NI offer services and support to people who have been affected by sexual trauma in any form, and our services are delivered across Northern Ireland. This is a key role in the organisation which will build on and continue to develop the work of the Training and Education Team. As a member of the Senior Management Team you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Organisation’s strategy.
The primary responsibilities and duties of the role:
- To contribute to the strategic direction and management of the organisation as part of the Senior Management Team
- Line Management of the training and education staff team
- Manage the development and delivery of a range of training projects ensuring project targets met on time, to the quality required and to budget.
- Working in collaboration with the fundraising team, support the development of training and education focussed funding applications.
- As appropriate attend meetings with funders and other key stakeholders to report on Education and Training delivery
- Manage the development and delivery of accredited training programmes tailored to a variety of audiences.
- Responsible for identifying and developing training and education provision to be marketed externally in order to generate income to support organisational sustainability
- Design, develop and ensure the delivery of an annual calendar of education and training events to external agencies
- Act as Centre Manager for accredited bodies, ensuring all appropriate paperwork completed and retuned e.g. Renewal of centre status, verification etc.
- Quality assure content of all training is updated, evaluated and reviewed on an ongoing basis.
- Manage and develop the training section for Nexus NI website and training and education marketing materials in collaboration with the Communication Officer
- Responsible for the management of the effective evaluation and monitoring of all training and education projects
- Managing the development and maintenance of Training databases ensuring adherence to GDPR
- Represent Nexus NI at meetings, forums, partnerships and committees as delegated by CEO
- In collaboration with HR, identify, develop and as appropriate deliver a training programme for Nexus staff
- To undertake relevant/ongoing training and participate in own professional development
- Work within the policies and procedures of Nexus at all times
- Comply with and promote safe working practices for yourself and others in accordance with Nexus Health & Safety policy
- Liaise and work with CEO on relevant tasks
- Any other duties as required by the role

This post will be subject to a probation period of 6 months.
Criteria/Essential Experience
- A recognised training or education qualification and 3 years’ experience of working in a training or education management role. Or Minimum of 5 years of working in a training or education management role.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of developing and delivering training programmes.
- Proven organisational skills with practical experience of working with a range of individuals and organisations
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills including experience of interacting with people at all levels, and the ability to speak in public.
- High level of experience and competence with IT including all Microsoft packages to include online delivery
- Proven experience of budget management.
- Experience of liaison with accreditation bodies
- Experience in developing communication strategies
- Experience of managing a team
- Proven ability to work on own initiative - ability to demonstrate experience of creative planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
- Hold a full, current driving licence with business insurance, and have access to the use of a car or some other appropriate form of transport to carry out the duties of the post in full.
- Experience and knowledge of GDPR
Desirable
- Experience in social research
- Experience of working or volunteering within the voluntary/community sector in a Training and Education role
- Experience in working with health / sexual trauma / domestic abuse data
- Experience of delivering accredited training programmes
