The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff member:

 Team Leader – Ardkeen/Hilmount  South Belfast            REF: 20-148-TL-AH-WEB

  

The Cedar foundation deliver a range of services that enable people with disabilities to get the most out of life and to be fully included in their communities. Our services are centred around the individual needs of each person and are delivered throughout Northern Ireland.

 

As part of the Living Options services, the Team Leader will enable service users who have learning / physical disabilities, brain injury and associated conditions, to pursue a valued lifestyle by supporting them with personal care as well as with social, emotional, spiritual and daily activity needs.

 

The Team Leader will mentor and supervise the Support Team and will work on the Rota on an as required basis that includes unsocial hours and weekends.

 

ARDKEEN – Consists of 10 fully adapted apartments, designed to facilitate Supported Living for tenants with high support needs, under the one roof. The tenant group includes people with physical disability, brain injury and sensory impairment. It combines housing with care and technology to increase independence and enhance quality of life. Tenants can utilise elements of assistive technology to support daily living. Ardkeen is located just off the Lisburn Road in Belfast and close to local amenities such as; shops, restaurants, parks and health centres. The team consists of 4-5 staff on daily to provide the service users support with their daily needs.

 

HILLMOUNT – Consists of 7 flats, and a cul-de-sac of 5 bungalows all of which incorporate elements of SMART technology. All service users have physical and sensory disabilities and /or brain injury with associated needs. The team consists of 3-5 staff on daily to provide the service users support with their daily needs.



Hours:                  20 hours per week + Sleep Ins

Contract:             Permanent

Location:             South Belfast

Hourly Rate:      £10.48 per hour

 

 

Essential:            

·        Numerate and literate to keep records, handle service users finances, maintain records and write reports.   

  AND

·        NVQ 3 (Health & Social Care) or equivalent or willing to attain a Level 3 QCF qualification.

·        Two years’ previous experience in a human services setting providing support and care.

·        Experience of working in partnership with service users, parents, health care professionals, carers, advocates and other agencies.

·        Flexibility to work on a rota basis that may require sleep over duties

·        Good working knowledge of IT, specifically Microsoft Word & Outlook

·        Ability to plan and prioritise workload

·        Good Communication skills

·        Awareness of current legislation

·        Experience in planning, writing or implementing and reviewing individual support plans

·        Ability to motivate staff

·        Ability to record accurately and objectively

·        Experience of working as part of a team

·        Ability to liaise effectively with arrange of stakeholders.
