Support Workers, various contracts available - NI Wide
Positive Futures
At Positive Futures, we’re positive about people. People with a learning disability, those with acquired brain injury and people on the autistic spectrum. Where others see problems, we see possibilities. We have transformed lives and continue to do so. We support individuals and families. We want to do more – but we need your help!
Due to rapid and continual growth, we are currently recruiting for Support Workers in all areas of Northern Ireland. We can offer anything from relief hours to full-time contracts and all roles are on a permanent basis.
Support Workers - £9.00 per hour
Relief Support Workers - £8.72 per hour
What would I be doing?
Our Support Workers support adults in their own homes to live empowered, independent lives. A typical day might include helping them plan and prepare a meal, complete some household chores, or engaging in a hobby. You may also be assisting with medication, financial management and personal care during the day as well as through the night if necessary.
Do I need previous experience?
We need people who are caring, kind, compassionate and patient. Any experience that you may have such as caring or supporting a child, family member or friend, volunteering or completing a work placement will be accepted. For full information on the role please view the Job Profile, Person Specification and Job Information sheet available on the Positive Futures website. Please note an enhanced Access NI check (which includes checking the Adult Barred List) is required for these roles.
Where would I be working?
We have Services all over Northern Ireland, specifically:
Bangor
Belfast
Cookstown
Enniskillen
Lisburn
Magherafelt
Newry
Omagh
Portavogie
On the application form, you may choose up to three locations that you would be willing to work in.
What shift patterns are available?
We provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can therefore offer anything from working on an ‘as and when required basis’, to full-time hours which for us would be 37.5 hours per week. There is also an opportunity to work additional hours if this would be something of interest. Availability can be discussed at interview stage; all we need to know at present is how many hours per week you could commit to if offered a position.
To apply to join the Positive Futures Team, please complete the application form online. The closing date has been extended from Sunday 8 November 2020 to Sunday 29 November 2020 at midnight. If you have any questions, please get in touch by calling 028 91 475720 or by sending an email to [email protected]. Thank you for your interest in working with us.
Please be aware that shortlisting for this role will occur on a weekly basis and interviews will be scheduled accordingly. Due to the ongoing pandemic, all interviews are currently being held virtually via Microsoft Teams.
