We’re looking for individuals to join or new innovate service, starting in 2021.

This is an exciting time to join Sense as we are getting ready to start our short breaks service based in Mallusk.

About the role

As a support worker for our short breaks service, you will provide person-centred support to an individual who may have sight and hearing impairments and or additional needs. The day-to-day role will vary dependent on the needs of the individual, the nature of the sensory impairment and the ways they wish to communicate.

Support in this instance is a person-centred approach which will provide the opportunity for the individuals you support to learn and develop skills. This will prepare them for transition into our supported living or residential services if desired.  

Contracts for days are either 6.5 or 8.5 hours per week.

As this is a new service, we are looking to recruit waking night staff and Flexi/casual staff too.

About you 

Previous care experience is not required for this role. It is really important that you’re adaptable and able to work on your own initiative, always putting the people we support first. We are looking for people that really embrace our values and ‘I’ statements. For genuine occupational reason we are looking to appoint a female only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
