Group volunteers help to run our groupsthat provide peer and social support groups for people affected by stroke

Your role  will enable stroke survivors to receive long term support from others in their community who have been similarly affected.

Social isolation after stroke is a sad and unnecessary consequence of stroke and is all too common. Feeling part of a community overcomes this and enables a better and fuller recovery.

Peer support helps build confidence and improves mental well-being. Having a cup of tea with someone who understands where you have been and where you want to go can make all the difference.

  • You have excellent listening skills.
  • You have excellent organisational skills.
  • You enjoy working with other people.
  • You have a friendly and approachable manner.

If you are interested in volunteering with us at the Stroke Association please give us a call to discuss it on 02890 508050 or email [email protected]
