One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations, The Salvation Army, is looking for a Specialist Support Worker to help us achieve successful outcomes for our vulnerable clients.

Grosvenor Lifehouse is a Residential Service for homeless families. Each centre accommodates 20 families for short term placements as more independent housing solutions are sourced. They deliver a person-centred programme of support in safe and secure environment until appropriate move-on accommodation is secured.

Key Responsibilities:

As a motivated and dynamic Specialist Support Worker (Child Development) you will be responsible for assisting with delivering a high quality programme of support for children which promotes play and child development. You will address children’s support needs, enable them to make positive life choices and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles as they become young adults. You will also and create and complete day to day activities and programmes to support meaningful engagement.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a relevant qualification e.g. child development or teaching qualification, with experience of engaging children and supporting play. You will have experience of play directed therapy and the ability to create programmes to help develop children’s psychological and physical capabilities. You will ideally have a full driving license and car.

6 month fixed term contract
